Brief description of functions

A person who ensures the education and rehabilitation of users in an institutional or external environment according to intervention programs established in collaboration with the team of professionals in place, with a view to the adaptation or rehabilitation of the individual or their reintegration into society. They apply educational techniques using daily life activities, organizing, coordinating, and leading the activities planned in the program, to ensure the learning and acquisition of appropriate attitudes and behaviors.

They observe and analyze the behavior of users, participate in the evaluation of their needs and abilities, and note their progress by writing the appropriate documents.

 

Specific functions and requirements

Under the authority of the head of social and community services, the main areas of intervention are:

• Provides individual and group support to children, adolescents, and families experiencing developmental, behavioral, psychosocial, or mental health challenges;
• Contributes to the assessment of client needs and to the development, implementation, and follow-up of intervention plans;
• Intervenes in various psychosocial and crisis situations, including mental health issues, substance use disorders, domestic violence, and suicide risk;
• In collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, actively participates in the implementation and delivery of Child, Youth, and Family Services;
• Plans, organizes, and participates in psychosocial prevention and health promotion activities in collaboration with team members and community partners;
• Collaborates with internal and external partners to ensure a comprehensive approach to client care;
• Maintains client records and prepares statistical reports;
• Adapts interventions to Naskapi culture and values;
• Contributes to the assessment, follow-up, and coordination of services by participating in home visits, case discussions, clinical meetings, and interdisciplinary team meetings;
• Participates in the psychosocial on-call rotation schedule;
• Performs any other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

 

REQUIREMENTS

• Must hold, according to the required field of activities, a bachelor’s degree in human sciences or social sciences such as social work, psychoeducation, criminology, or psychology;
• Member of a professional order (a major asset);
• Two (2) years of relevant experience with youth-family clientele (an asset);
• Experience working in remote areas (an asset);
• Proficiency in spoken and written English;
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills;
• Interest in sharing knowledge and experiences with colleagues;
• Demonstrates initiative, organization, and autonomy;
• Shows openness to cultural differences, interest, and empathy towards others;
• Good ability to adapt to a new environment;
• Valid driver’s license.

 

Working conditions

• Hourly rate according to the Nomenclature des titres d’emploi, des libellés, des taux et des échelles de salaire du réseau de la santé et des services sociaux, based on the job title related to the candidate’s diploma;
• Day shift, schedule of 35h/week, from Monday to Friday;
• Availability shift;
• Isolation premium of $233,38/week of 35 hours (without dependent) or $411,40/week of 35 hours (with dependent);
• Cargo premium $83,75$/week (adult and child 12 years and older), $41,88/week (child under 12);
• Retention premium starting at $6,050 annually for an employee with less than one year of continuous service at the Naskapi CLSC;
• Furnished accommodation provided, everything is included (high-speed fiber optic Internet), if located more than 50 km from your place of residence;
• Moving and storage costs reimbursed by the CLSC;
• Transportation day and travel expenses paid;
• 4 annual outings for full-time employees with a “no dependent” status: The full-time work schedule averages 8-9 weeks worked and 4 weeks off;
• 3 annual outings for a “with dependent(s)” status: The full-time work schedule averages 12-13 weeks worked and 4-5 weeks off;
• Possibility to obtain a Nordic leave if you are working in the Health System;
• Group insurance;
• Pension plan (RREGOP).
