Brief description of functions
Person who, in addition to his or her duties as a nurse, makes, due to the absence of a doctor permanently in outpost or in a dispensary, evaluations of users which allow the doctor to carry out distance a diagnosis and determine the appropriate interventions. She performs activities and procedures that are generally reserved for physicians in other workplaces. Must be a member of the Quebec Order of Nurses. This position includes functions in an extended role. Provides on-call coverage, alternating with the nursing team present, as first responder or second responder.
Specific functions and requirements
REQUIREMENTS
- Member in good standing of the O.I.I.Q.;
- Three (3) years of relevant experience;
- One (1) year of experience in critical care;
- Training in the Expanded Role; must have the authorizations for the collective prescriptions related to his functions or have successfully completed his training in Expanded Role. A candidate corresponding to the requirements but not having her training in Expanded Role could be considered and trained at the employer’s expense;
- Experience working with First Nations or in remote areas (an asset);
- Fluency in oral and written English;
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills;
- Interest in sharing knowledge and experiences with colleagues;
- Demonstrates initiative, resourcefulness and autonomy;
- Demonstrates an openness to cultural difference, interest and empathy towards others;
- Good ability to adapt to a new environment;
- Valid driver's license.
Working conditions
- Hourly rate according to the Nomenclature des titres d’emploi, des libellés, des taux et des échelles de salaire du réseau de la santé et des services sociaux, based on the job title related to the candidate’s diploma;
- Permanent full-time and part-time positions available;
- Day shift, schedule of 37.50/week, from Monday to Friday;
- On-call shifts;
- Isolation premium of $227.69/week of 37.50 hours (without dependent) or $401.36/week of 37.50 hours (with dependent); ); paid each pay period according to hours worked;
- Cargo premium 83.75/week of 37.50 hours (adult and child 12 years and older), 41.88$/week of 37.50 hours (child under 12);
- Retention premium of $287.47/week of 37.50 hours;
- Dispensary premium of $222.00 / week of 37.50 hoursfor 1911 - Clinical nurse only, (2491 Dispensary nurse, the dispensary premium is included in the hourly rate;
- Furnished accommodation provided, everything is included (high-speed fiber optic Internet), if located more than 50 km from your place of residence;
- Moving and storage costs reimbursed by the CLSC;
- Transportation day and travel expenses paid;
- 4 annual outings for full-time employees with a “no dependent” status: The full-time work schedule averages 8-9 weeks worked and 4 weeks off;
- 3 annual outings for a “with dependent(s)” status: The full-time work schedule averages 12-13 weeks worked and 4-5 weeks off;
- The part-time work schedule averages five (5) weeks worked and eight (8) weeks off;
- Possibility to obtain a Nordic leave if you are working in the Health System; Group insurance;
- Pension plan (RREGOP).
