Under the supervision of the Head of Services – Social and Community Services, person who participates in the identification of community needs, informs and refers users to appropriate resources. It contributes to the application of community organization programs, particularly in connection with the Pathfinders program (community-based mental health prevention-promotion).
ᑕᑐᐎᒡ ᐊᓯᓇᒂᒡ ᐊᑐᔅᒐᐅᓇ ᑭᔭ ᒐᒂᓐ ᒐᓄᑕᐱᐃᒡ
Specific functions
- Contact person for the Path Finders program activities;
- In collaboration with team workers, analyze the community needs and intervenes on the social
- determinants of health;
- Plan, organize and lead prevention-promotion activities, according to identified needs;
- Facilitate and co-facilitate activities and workshops in the community:
- Accompany counselors in their interventions, if needed;
- Participate in the organization of collaboration meeting table and may support community
- organizations;
- Support the various CLSC programs and services, as needed;
- Collaborate closely with various partners; community-based organizations, school, etc.;
- Write observation notes and make statistics, if requested;
- Actively participate in ongoing training and supervision;
- Participate in meetings with the multidisciplinary social and community services team;
- Support for translation;
- Any other tasks requested by immediate superior.
Requirements
- Hold a high school diploma or equivalent, college diploma an asset;
- Speak Naskapi fluently and know Naskapi traditions, beliefs and customs;
- Knowledge of English, spoken and written;
- Experience in organizing activities in the field of health and social services, recreation or community organizations would be an asset;
- Demonstrate a positive attitude, a great sense of responsibility and organization;
- Be able to work independently and with other people;
- Be able to work with Word and Outlook software.

- Hourly rate according to experience (between $22.54 and $26.00);
- Day shift, however, he may be called in the evening or on weekends for various activities;
- Regional disparity premium of $10,627 (without dependent) or $18,732 (with dependent);
- Group insurance plan;
- Defined benefit pension plan (RREGOP).
