ᓴᓯᑲᓐ ᐊᑐᔅᒐᐅᓐ ᐊᓯᓇᒂᒡ
Under the supervision of the Head of social and community services and in collaboration with community partners, the educator participates in the implementation of the Early Intervention Program for children 0-6 years old. In addition, he/she works with children aged 6-12 with behavioral problems, attention problems, and various mental health or relational problems, etc. He/She will do so in collaboration with the child’s environments, and particularly with his family. The educator also participates in setting up and running promotion/prevention activities. He/She intervenes in a crisis situation.
ᑕᑐᐎᒡ ᐊᓯᓇᒂᒡ ᐊᑐᔅᒐᐅᓇ ᑭᔭ ᒐᒂᓐ ᒐᓄᑕᐱᐃᒡ
Specific functions
Under the authority of the Head of Social and Community Services, its main areas of intervention are:
- Actively participates in the establishment and implementation of the 0-6 Years Program;
- Organizes and leads promotion/prevention activities with families and children aged 0-6 years in collaboration with the “Naskapi family education workers”;
- Intervenes with children and their families in collaboration with daycare, school and social settings;
- Coordinates screening and early stimulation activities for 0-6 year olds and works in close collaboration with the “Naskapi family education workers”;
- Intervenes with children aged 6-12 who have behavioral problems, mental health problems or problems that significantly affect their functioning in a variety of contexts.
- Develops individualized intervention plans and enters data into SIC+;
- Works with the multidisciplinary team and actively participates in clinical discussions;
- Intervenes with children’s family;
- Intervenes in crisis situation;
- Provides, on a rotating basis, 24/7 psychosocial emergency services;
- Any other tasks requested by his immediate superior.
Requirements
- Must hold a college diploma in special education;
- Experience working in remote regions and with First Nations, a major asset;
- Experience with children 0-12 years old, an asset;
- Written and spoken competence in English and French is required;
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team;
- Sense of organization and autonomy;
- Facilitation skills;
- Valid driver's license.
ᒐᐃᓯᓇᑯᓂᒡ ᐊᓐᑕ ᐊᑐᔅᒐᐅᓂᒡ
- Hourly rate depending on experience (between $24.78 and $35.67);
- Day shift;
- Regional disparity premium of $10,627 (without dependent) or $18,732 (with dependent);
- Furnished accommodation provided, everything is included (high-speed fiber optic Internet), if located more than 50km from your place of residence;
- Moving and storage expenses reimbursed by the CLSC;
- Transport paid;
- 3 or 4 annual outings depending on the status;
- Possibility of obtaining a northern leave if you are currently working in the health network;
- Group insurance plan;
- Defined benefit pension plan (RREGOP).
