Under the supervision of the Head of Services – Social and Community Services, person who, without holding a college diploma in social work techniques or special education, performs tasks of an educational and psychosocial nature and develops, organizes and lead activities of promotion and prevention in the community (mainly with a clientele of children aged 0-12 and their families), in collaboration with local partners and CLSC workers.
ᑕᑐᐎᒡ ᐊᓯᓇᒂᒡ ᐊᑐᔅᒐᐅᓇ ᑭᔭ ᒐᒂᓐ ᒐᓄᑕᐱᐃᒡ
Specific functions
- Plan, organize and lead educational activities for families in the community;
- Facilitate and co-facilitate early stimulation activities with the aim of developing the full potential of children aged 0-5 in the community (individual and group);
- Facilitate and co-facilitate parenting skills development workshops;
- Do home visits with the help of a structured program for pregnant women and their children 0-5 years old (SIPPE, Agir tôt);
- Participate in the screening of children 0-5 years old with difficulties;
- Participate in the assessments of children 0-5 years old with signs of developmental delay;
- Accompany the youth clientele and their parents during intervention plan meetings;
- Collaborate closely with various partners daycare, school and community-based organizations, etc.;
- Organize and participate in community events;
- Write observation and progress notes and make statistics;
- Actively participate in ongoing training and supervision;
- Participate in meetings with the multidisciplinary social and community services team of the CLSC Naskapi.
- Support for translation
- Any other tasks requested by immediate superior.
Requirements
- Must hold a high school diploma or equivalent;
- Speak Naskapi fluently and know Naskapi traditions, beliefs and customs;
- Ability to speak in English, spoken and written
- Experience with clientele 0-12 years old would be an asset;
- Experience in organizing activities in the field of health and social services, recreation or community organizations would be an asset;
- Show a positive attitude, a great sense of responsibility and organization;
- Able to work autonomously as well as with others;
- Able to work with Word software and Outlook.

- Hourly rate according to experience (between $24.21 and $32.32);
- Day shift, however, he may be called in the evening or on weekends for various activities;
- Regional disparity premium of $10,627 (without dependent) or $18,732 (with dependent);
- Group insurance plan;
- Defined benefit pension plan (RREGOP).
